Becoming a Marshal

Being a Rapier Marshal is not a rank. It is a responsibility and a commitment to furthering rapier in the Kingdom of Meridies. A marshal is expected to fulfill the duties that they have volunteered to perform. If they do not perform as expected, then their marshalate may be rescinded. There are two levels of marshals in Meridies, the Marshal-At-Large (MAL) and the Warranted Marshal (WM). Of these, the Warranted Marshal has the most responsibilities.

To become a Marshal-At-Large, one must:

  1. Be a resident of Meridies.
  2. Hold a Meridian Advanced Rapier Authorization.
  3. Attend the Marshaling 101 Class.

To become a Warranted Marshal, one must:

  1. Be a resident of Meridies.
  2. Have served as a Marshal-At-Large.
  3. Attend the Marshaling 102 Class.
  4. Receive approval from the Kingdom Rapier Marshal.

One final note – If there is very little rapier presence in your local group, it would be your special responsibility to get things rolling. Consider becoming the Group Marshal for your area.
